THE COLLECTION

Besides having the largest and most complete collection of naive paintings in the world - gathering over 6.000 works - the Museum has also two of the largest paintings in naive style. They are displayed in the main room and are part of a group of works permanently exhibited.

The painting "Brazil, 5 centuries" by the naive artist Aparecida Azedo measuring 1,40 x 24 meters is partially shown on the left picture.

The artist Lia Mittarakis, who lived in Paquetá Island, Guanabara Bay, painted "Rio de Janeiro, I like you, I like your happy people" (side) that measures 4 x 7 meters.
